You’ll be helping to improve this shrub and forested area by removing invasive blackberry\, mulching and adding tree guards to new plants added over the winter. DESCRIPTION:Along with a crew of volunteers from PEMCO Insurance we will be celebrating Earth Day by continuing a variety of restoration work at North City Park that was stated just over a year ago. \nOn the 22nd we will be initiating the removal of invasive and non-native plants from the Park’s 4th restoration site. For those who prefer to help with planting\, we have a recently cleared site ready for planting bare root plants. In the upper forest we have some mature trees that are in need ivy removed along with the construction of survival rings. And finally\, we have two sites which require a good mulching to protect new native plants installed last Novembers as we head into our PNW summer. SUMMARY:TCA Community Science E.coli Sampling
DESCRIPTION:  \nCollect water samples for E. coli analysis from 12 to 13 sites in the Thornton Creek drainage. Every other Saturday morning three teams collect water from their respective sampling sites in Thornton Creek and Little Brook Creek. The samples are processed\, incubated and counted by one of the team members. Results are entered on an electronic data sheet\, submitted and finally reported.
